Let Joanie and Gary McGuffin take on you a 1200-mile canoe trip through some of the most breathtaking ancient forests and coastal areas in Northern Ontario with their words and photographs. Their 3 month journey took place in the region between Temagami and Algoma, an area made famous by the popular write and conservationist Grey Owl. Come hear the McGuffins incorporate details of Grey Owl’s life and travels into their own story as they explore the romance, mystical beauty, and conservation issues that surround these ancient forests.

The McGuffins are the authors of several award-winning books including, “Superior: Journeys on an Inland Sea”, “Paddle Your Own Canoe – an Illustrated Guide to the Art of Canoeing,” “Where Rivers Run, a 6,000 Mile Exploration of Canada by Canoe.” The McGuffins’ latest adventure was a 3,000-km, 87 day, paddling expedition along the Great Lakes Heritage Coast (north shores of Lake Superior and Lake Huron) during the summer of 2002.
